So much more fun than a hotel room!
Unlike many other cabin grounds, ours has its own private setting, with view of creek and wooded hillside in front and behind, and not lined up side by side with our other cabins. However, it is not secluded or in the wilderness, being just 2 1/2 miles from Mena. But most people find the location works for popping in and out of town and yet still having their quiet, private lot and access to National Forest.
Sleeps 8 in 1 Queen bed, 2 full loft beds, 1 full futon; however, it is a “tiny house,” so bear that in mind if you bring that many people. Not a lot of square footage! But if you will be doing a lot of outdoor activities and just want a cute and cozy place to clean up, eat and sleep, you will love it.
It is a really pretty drive to Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails–the adventurous guests can drive right from your cabin on scenic back gravel road about 8 miles, or you can trailer your ATV and go on paved busier road. Before you set out on the back road (402, shown above) call the Forest Service to make sure the roads are open: Map to the trails and Forest Service phone number
There is a park bench to enjoy listening to the little stream just behind the cabin.. (Not for swimming or fishing, but it is a nice, peaceful place to sit and de-stress.)
The compact kitchen is equipped for light cooking, with dishes, linens and pans. There is a banquette eating area, and little, intimate living room with tv set with dvd (no reception), and selection of movies. The living room has an electric fireplace.
There is a comfortable Queen bed on the ground floor, with Sealy-Posturpedic mattress, in a small but private bedroom.
Little banquette eating area.
Two darling and comfortable fullsize sleeping lofts, one with steep stairs from living room, the other up a ladder off the hall.
Note: Access to 2 full-size sleeping lofts are not handicap accessible! Not appropriate for toddlers or really small children–but loads of fun for the 6 and up kiddos.
The cabin also has a small deck porch. The charcoal grill and picnic table are available for your outdoor cooking. No campfires are allowed. You will enjoy sitting by the little stream at the back.
Your tiny house has a little covered deck, with patio chairs and table, and a wonderful rocking chair, where you can sit and watch the hummingbirds and wildlife.
Ride the back county roads from the cabin, no matter the weather! Here are a couple of our youngest AVT enthusiasts who stayed at Sunnybrook in March! It might have been chilly and rainy, but the sunshine on the faces made up for it.
Sunnybrook guest just put over 100 miles on his new ATV on Co.Rd. 402 and at Wolf Pen Gap, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of our area to relax after the ride.
The cabin is just 400 square feet, and is ideal for the family who has a lot of outdoor activities in mind. No fancy furniture or amenities, just affordable, good, clean, and comfortable cooking and sleeping quarters to come back to after a day of enjoying all that Mena and the Ouachitas have to offer.
Rustic and unique log-sided cabin in large private lot with little covered deck, a nice stream flows at back. Privacy fence. Plus, your cabin does not share grounds with any other cabin.
No pets (Sorry for the inconvenience; if you are traveling with a pet, the owner’s son is a vet with a nice boarding facility about 5 minutes’ drive away from the cabin)
No smoking cabin
