This is a favorite with guests who have tried all our cabins! Here is a recent review A.K. placed on AirBnb:
The all-season sunporch is heated and cooled, and the morning sun invites you to sit there to sip your coffee and watch the squirrels in the trees.
It is a really pretty drive to Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails–the adventurous guests can drive right from your cabin on scenic back gravel road about 10 miles, or you can trailer your ATV and go on paved but really pretty 375 road. Before you set out on the back road (402, shown below) call the Forest Service to make sure the roads are open: Map to the trails and Forest Service phone number
Above: Beautiful drive into National Forest just past the cabin, and you can actually end up at Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails! topography map showing way to Wolf Pen Gap
A cozy but rustic Western Cedar cabin, near the National Forest on a quiet, paved road, with its own little private clearing in the woods, sunroom on front and shady back area with deck and privacy fence.
Wildflower garden and woods give delight and privacy at your deck.
Make memories with the kiddos in your little woods cabin!
“Little House on the Prairie” kitchen has door to the deck. It has 4 burner cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, full size fridge/freezer and dishes, pots and pans, and linens.
Loft has twin beds and lots of books and teddy bears. The stairway is wide and easy to climb.
Park right in front of your cabin–one pickup and trailer fits. If you have more vehicles, contact Carolyn to arrange for auxiliary parking.
Cozy up to the fireplace, watch a movie, read a book, or eat in the delightful sunroom–you won’t want to leave. Romantic hideaway for two, but if you want to bring the kids, they will love it! And the kids stay free! (up to 2 age 12 and under)
Your own little clearing near the National Forest–not secluded or remote, but private–no other cabins around it. You might get to see some forest wildlife: birds, butterflies, deer, squirrel, rabbits, possum, and more. This is a sort of “Little House on the Prairie” cabin–you will feel like playing house!
“My husband and I stayed in the Woodhaven cabin for 3 days while visiting my brother in Mena. The cabin is secluded but easy access to town. Beautiful decor with everything you need to prepare a meal, coffee, tea etc. Price is better than the local hotel and a lot more to offer. we plan on returning for another stay.”
“We had stayed at Willowbrook before, but it was not available, so we stayed this time at Woodhaven. We fell in love with it. We like it even better than Willowbrook!” L. K. June 2015
You won’t find a better cozy but rustic western cedar cabin in the woods, with great location at the edge of the National Forest on a paved road, just 5 minutes from Mena, and you can ride 4-wheelers directly from the cabin to Wolf Pen Gap on 402 (check with the Forest Service to make sure 402 is open–after some rains, the road may be temporarily closed). You’ll find a wildflower garden in front, with winding pathway to the sunroom/screened porch, and then enter your cozy 24 x 24 open cabin, with its loft and its twig art railing of real woods twigs and tons of friendly bears for kids to play with. This is your “relax and don’t worry about a thing” cabin.
